The crypto market is entering an important phase, and Bitcoin is once again at the center of attention.
Bitcoin is trading around the $79K area, while a major technical signal has just appeared: the 50-day moving average has crossed above the 200-day moving average, creating a Golden Cross.
This is Bitcoin's first Golden Cross since May 2025, making the signal particularly interesting after the difficult market period Bitcoin has experienced.
🟡 Why Is the Golden Cross Important?
A Golden Cross occurs when a shorter-term moving average moves above a longer-term moving average.
In Bitcoin's case:
50-Day MA → crosses above → 200-Day MA
Traders generally view this as a potential sign of improving long-term momentum.
But there is an important point:
A Golden Cross is NOT a guarantee that Bitcoin will pump.
Price confirmation is still needed.
🎯 Bitcoin's $80K Battle
Bitcoin is currently trading just below the psychologically important $80,000 level.
According to recent technical analysis, the next important resistance areas are approximately:
🔴 $80,000🔴 $83,000–$84,000🔴 $90,000
A convincing breakout above these levels could significantly strengthen the bullish setup. Analysts have also highlighted the importance of Bitcoin holding above the ~$75K area, with deeper support around ~$71.8K.
🚀 What happens if BTC breaks $80K?
A clean breakout followed by a successful retest could bring $83K–$84K into focus.
If momentum continues beyond that zone, $90K becomes an important psychological and technical target.
But if Bitcoin repeatedly fails around $80K, traders could see another rejection.
🟣 Ethereum Is Also Showing a Bullish Setup
Bitcoin isn't the only major cryptocurrency attracting attention.
Ethereum recently gained around 37% over a 10-day period, reaching approximately $2,564, before entering a consolidation phase.
That consolidation has created what technical analysts call a bull flag.
According to Reuters' technical analysis, a breakout from this pattern could potentially target around $3,050, while a move below roughly $2,350–$2,360 would weaken the bullish setup.
So the key ETH zones are:
Resistance: ~$2,550–$2,565
Bullish target: ~$3,050
Important support: ~$2,350–$2,360
💰 Institutional Money Is Still Important
Another major factor is Bitcoin ETF activity.
Recent reports showed approximately $1.01 billion of net Bitcoin ETF inflows over three trading sessions, suggesting institutional demand has remained an important source of support.
This creates an interesting situation:
Bitcoin is near $80K + Golden Cross + institutional demand
But the market still needs a confirmed breakout.
⚠️ The BIG Risk Nobody Should Ignore
The bullish setup comes with serious macroeconomic risks.
Oil prices have moved above $100 per barrel, while Treasury yields remain elevated. Rising energy prices can increase inflation pressure, which could influence central-bank policy and interest-rate expectations.
The market is also watching upcoming U.S. inflation data closely.
And leverage remains a major issue.
Recent data showed roughly $246 million in crypto positions were liquidated within 24 hours, showing how quickly volatility can increase when traders are heavily leveraged.
