After 9 years trading, here's my exact top-down system. No indicators. Just structure.
🔍 THE PROBLEM
Most traders get wrecked because they're trading blind. They see a setup on the 1min, take it, then get destroyed because the Daily is screaming the opposite direction.
You need a system that shows you what the market is actually doing before you risk a dollar.
📊 THE 3-TIMEFRAME SYSTEM
Step 1: Daily Chart
Zoom out. What's the actual trend?
- Higher highs/higher lows = bullish
- Lower highs/lower lows = bearish
- Choppy sideways = range
Mark your key structural levels. This is your macro bias.
Step 2: 15min Chart
Now check recent price action.
Does it confirm or reject your Daily bias?
If Daily is bullish but 15min is breaking down, you have a problem. If both align, you have conviction.
Step 3: 1min Chart
This is where you execute.
Find your actual entry setup here.
But here's the key: your 1min setup should make sense with what you saw on Daily and 15min.
⚡ WHEN THEY ALIGN
Daily bullish + 15min bullish + 1min bullish = HIGH CONVICTION
This is when you can:
- Risk more size
- Take B+ setups instead of only A+
- Actually make money
🚨 WHEN THEY DON'T ALIGN
Daily bearish + 15min neutral + 1min bullish = LOW CONVICTION
You can still take the trade, but:
- Reduce your risk
- Only take A+ setups
- Track these in your journal
If misaligned trades consistently lose, stop taking them.
