While much of DeFi spent the summer nursing a TVL slump, Maple Finance was busy setting records. The institutional credit protocol wrapped up the first half of 2026 with $4.6 billion in assets under management an 81% jump year-over-year and quarterly revenue up 47%. The divergence from the broader market tells its own story: investors are rotating out of incentive-chasing yield farms and into transparent, cashflow-backed onchain lending. A New Syrup, A Fast Start The headline act this month was syrupUSDG, Maple's first fresh Syrup product in two years. Built on Robinhood Chain and backed by Global Dollar, it now powers Robinhood Earn pushing institutional-grade credit straight into the hands of retail users. The market didn't wait around: syrupUSDG crossed $200 million in AUM in just eight days, outpacing the climb of its predecessor, syrupUSDT, by a wide margin. Buybacks, Now Automated July also saw MIP-021 go live, introducing a rules-based buyback system for SYRUP. When monthly revenue sits below $1.5M, 10% goes toward buybacks; cross $2M, and that allocation climbs to 30%. It's a simple mechanism, but it ties token value directly to protocol performance no discretion, no guesswork. Kraken Comes Onboard Maple also struck a warehouse lending partnership with Kraken, combining bankruptcy-remote financing, institutional custody, and senior overcollateralized loans backed by BTC and ETH. It's another sign that traditional credit infrastructure is being rebuilt onchain, brick by brick, without cutting corners on risk standards. The Bigger Picture Maple's model earning yield from real interest paid by institutional borrowers, not token emissions has let it keep growing while much of DeFi stalled. That thesis is backed by the broader tokenized real-world asset market, now around $33.5B and up 184% year-over-year, of which less than 10% is currently active in DeFi credit. In other words: there's a lot of room left to run.
Everyone's focused on yields. I'm focused on distribution. Maple has already proven institutional demand for onchain credit. Robinhood Chain is what expands that access. Institutional-grade credit rails, now in front of millions of users. This is how onchain credit goes mainstream.
Robinhood Chain has only been on mainnet for a few months. Stablecoin supply is already closing in on $500M. Infrastructure is arriving. Liquidity is following. Are we witnessing the rise of one of crypto's biggest chains in real time? Time will tell.
One chart says a lot. Solana processed 126.5M transactions on July 22, while the next closest chain (BNB Chain) handled 14.1M. The gap isn't marginal it's almost 9x. Whether you're bullish or not, it's hard to ignore where users are transacting.

Stablecoins don’t have to sit idle. With Maple’s syrupUSDC and syrupUSDT now available on 1inch, users can seamlessly swap into tokenized institutional lending positions across multiple chains. It’s another step toward making RWAs more liquid, accessible, and integrated into everyday DeFi. 🌐📈
It was another strong week for Maple Finance, led by the successful passage of MIP-021, the protocol's rules-based SYRUP buyback proposal. Approved with 99.97% support, the proposal introduces revenue-linked monthly buybacks that begin in August, with all transactions published on Maple's Transparency Dashboard.
On the product side, syrupUSDG continued its impressive launch, surpassing $200 million in assets under management while expanding across both Ethereum and Robinhood Chain.
The community also remained active, with CEO Sid Powell sharing insights on stablecoin adoption and Maple inviting users to participate in its upcoming Community AMA and Quarterly Ecosystem Update.
Momentum from Maple's Q2 and H1 2026 results continued, with the protocol maintaining around $4.6 billion in AUM and a record $1.9 billion in loans outstanding. Supported by stronger fundamentals and improved tokenomics, SYRUP also saw positive market sentiment throughout the week.
Overall, it was a week defined by stronger governance, growing product adoption, and continued institutional momentum for Maple Finance.
$SYRUP continues to show relative strength. 📈 Price: $0.182 (+2.6%) 💰 24H Volume: $7.1M The move appears to be driven by improving market sentiment rather than protocol-specific news. If buyers defend $0.17, the next test is $0.19. Volume expansion will be the key confirmation.
With transparent monthly reporting and a six-month implementation period, MIP-021 aims to make buybacks more predictable and aligned with Maple's growth.
If you're a SYRUP holder, don't miss your chance to vote before July 17.
Maple Finance Weekly Recap (June 29 – July 5, 2026)
This week, Maple Finance took one of its biggest steps toward bringing institutional credit to mainstream finance with the launch of syrupUSDG its first new Syrup yield product in two years.
Built on USDG, the regulated stablecoin issued by Paxos and the Global Dollar Network, syrupUSDG allows users to earn yield generated from Maple's overcollateralized institutional lending strategy. The product is now live on Ethereum and Robinhood Chain, with additional network expansions planned.
The launch was backed by a strong ecosystem of partners, including Robinhood, Paxos, Morpho, and Steakhouse Financial, making Maple's institutional credit infrastructure accessible to fintech platforms and, soon, millions of Robinhood users through Robinhood Earn.
Throughout the week, Maple reinforced its key strengths: over $22 billion in institutional loans originated since 2022, transparent onchain Proof of Reserves, and a rapidly growing lending business. The protocol continues to position itself as the bridge between regulated stablecoins and real-world institutional credit.
Momentum also carried over from Maple's recently announced warehouse lending partnership with Kraken, further strengthening its leadership in institutional onchain lending.
Looking ahead, all eyes are on the Q2 Investor Call on July 8, where the team will review quarterly performance, discuss the syrupUSDG launch, and outline Maple's roadmap for the second half of 2026.
Bottom line: This week wasn't just about launching a new product it marked Maple's expansion beyond DeFi and into mainstream fintech, bringing institutional-grade onchain credit to a much broader audience.
The countdown is on just 3 days remaining. ⏳ Join @joe_defi and @syrupsid on July 8 at 11AM ET for Maple's Q2 Investor Call, where they'll discuss: • Q2 financial and business performance • Key milestones from the quarter • Strategic priorities for H2 2026 • Community Q&A If there's something you'd like covered, submit your questions below. 👇
Big move from @MapleFinance. syrupUSDG isn't just another yield product it's institutional credit infrastructure packaged into one of the first major regulated stablecoins to offer built-in returns. More utility. More capital efficiency. More reasons institutions keep choosing Maple.
Maple has spent the last few years proving that onchain institutional credit isn't just possible, but scalable.
With over $22B in loan originations across multiple market cycles, it has quietly become the leading onchain asset manager for institutional credit. Now, that engine is expanding again.
The launch of syrupUSDG isn't just another product it's Maple's first new Syrup asset in two years and a major step toward bringing institutional yield to mainstream users.
Here's why this matters:
• syrupUSDG extends Maple's proven credit strategy beyond syrupUSDC and syrupUSDT. • It brings institutional-grade, overcollateralized lending yields to Global Dollar (USDG). • It powers Robinhood Earn through a vault curated by Steakhouse Financial and built on Morpho's infrastructure. • It opens Maple's credit engine to millions of fintech users instead of limiting access to crypto-native participants.
The bigger picture is even more exciting.
For years, institutional credit has been locked behind private funds and traditional financial institutions. Maple is changing that by making transparent, onchain credit strategies accessible through regulated stablecoins and consumer fintech platforms.
Every participant has a clearly defined role:
→ Maple originates and manages institutional loans. → Paxos issues the regulated USDG stablecoin. → Steakhouse Financial curates risk. → Morpho provides the lending infrastructure. → Robinhood distributes the product to millions of users.
This modular approach is exactly how institutional finance should be brought onchain.
For the Maple ecosystem, syrupUSDG creates another growth engine.
More supported assets → More TVL → More loan demand → More protocol revenue → More value flowing through the SYRUP ecosystem.
After establishing itself as the number 1 onchain asset manager for institutional credit,
The launch of syrupUSDG is another major milestone in that journey. 🌿
Maple Finance had another strong week, reinforcing its position as a leader in institutional onchain lending and real-world asset finance.
The headline announcement was Maple's landmark partnership with Kraken, launching an institutional-grade onchain warehouse facility for digital asset-backed loans. The structure allows Kraken OTC clients to borrow USDC against their BTC and ETH holdings without selling their assets, while giving Maple lenders access to transparent, overcollateralized credit opportunities. It's one of the clearest examples yet of bringing traditional structured credit infrastructure fully onchain.
Maple also launched its new Transparency page, allowing anyone to verify live protocol data, including AUM, deposits, revenue, product performance, and the Syrup Strategic Fund, all reconciled with Dune Analytics.
On the growth front, Maple maintained over $1 million in monthly revenue, active loans reached a record of roughly $1.7 billion, and protocol assets continued climbing toward the $4 billion mark. With institutional adoption accelerating and the Q2 Investor Call scheduled for July 8, Maple continues to build the infrastructure connecting traditional finance with onchain capital markets.
