One of the most underrated parts of DeFi infrastructure is knowing when NOT to update.

It sounds counterintuitive. We usually associate good oracle data with speed and constant updates.

But what happens when multiple data sources suddenly disagree?

DIA’s #LATAM FX feeds have a mechanism for this. When sources move beyond a defined deviation threshold, the feed can hold the last good value instead of pushing a questionable update onchain.

That matters for #defi protocols where an incorrect price can affect collateral, liquidations, swaps or other financial operations.

Fresh data is useful.

Reliable #data is better.

And sometimes the safest #Oracle update is no update at all.
