XAUT Bounces Off $3,873: Gold-Backed Token Tries to Stabilize After a Steep Decline
Tether Gold is trading at $3,896.55 on the 4H chart, up 0.49% on the day. After the slide from the $4,078 high, price carved out a flat base near $3,873 and has now started to lift. This is a quieter, steadier chart than the crypto majors I’ve been tracking, which fits a gold-backed asset.
Price structure: The 24h range sits between $3,873.76 and $3,913.16, a tight band. The decline was a one-directional drop with very little pushback, but the sideways candles near the low show selling pressure has faded. The latest green candle pushed price off that base, and the small red candle after it looks like a minor pause rather than a rejection.
Moving averages: Price has moved back above the MA(7) at 3,888, which is now curling upward. The MA(25) at 3,917 sits just overhead and is still sloping down, making it the first real test. The MA(99) at 4,033 is falling well above price, so the broader trend remains bearish until that picture changes.
Volume: 24h volume is about 2,933 XAUT (roughly $11.41M). Volume spiked on the heavy red candle during the drop and has dried up since, which suggests the selling has cooled. The bounce so far has come on light participation, so I’d like to see volume build before trusting it.
What I’m watching:
Support: $3,888 where the MA(7) sits, then the $3,873 swing low
Resistance: $3,913 to $3,917, where the daily high and MA(25) sit, then the $4,033 MA(99)
A clean 4H close above $3,920 with rising volume would be the first sign that the recovery has legs. A break below $3,873 would put the base in question and open the door to another leg lower.
