Putin has signed Russia's first comprehensive crypto law.
The Law on Digital Currencies and Digital Rights takes effect September 1, 2026.
What it does:
- Recognises digital currency as property
- Creates a licensed exchange market supervised by the Central Bank
- Sets up digital depositories to record who owns what
- Regulates mining, custody and digital financial assets
Retail investors must pass a knowledge test and are capped at 300,000 rubles (about $3,800) per platform each year. Qualified investors face no limit.
Only the largest and most liquid coins will be allowed to trade.
The Central Bank has said Bitcoin, Ethereum and USDT currently meet that standard.
Crypto still cannot be used to pay for goods inside Russia. Banks can block suspicious transactions, and a 48-hour cooling-off period applies to wallet transfers.
Meanwhile the CLARITY Act is not on the Senate schedule, and the chamber leaves for recess in just 2 days.

$BTC | The $50K Zone Could Define the Next Cycle
Bitcoin may be approaching the final bottoming phase of this market cycle. Over the next 2 to 3 months, I'm closely watching the $50K area.
Not because I believe $50K is guaranteed to be the exact bottom, but because that region could offer one of the best long-term risk/reward opportunities if a final capitulation unfolds.
My long-term roadmap:
• $50K: Potential accumulation zone
• Q4 2027 to Q1 2028: Possible new all-time high window
• 2028: Price discovery phase
• Q2 to Q3 2029: Potential cycle peak
My long-term target is around $190K. If Bitcoin were accumulated near $50K, that would represent roughly a 3.8x return if this roadmap plays out.
The hardest part won't be buying after Bitcoin has already recovered. It will be buying when sentiment is at its worst, confidence is gone, and the market still looks broken.
That's why I'm not chasing every bounce. I'm waiting for a setup that offers a favorable balance between risk and reward.

Coldcard wallet exploit losses climb to $89M! According to Galaxy Research, a third wave of attacks has targeted vulnerable Coldcard Mk3 hardware wallets, with hackers stealing another 208 BTC from around 1,900 addresses. In total, the exploit has now resulted in the theft of 1,367 BTC (~$89 million) across 4,585 wallets. Researchers say the vulnerability stems from a 2021 firmware bug that generated seed phrases using predictable software entropy instead of the device's hardware random number generator, allowing attackers to reconstruct private keys offline. Galaxy also reports that some of the stolen funds are already being laundered through THORChain and online casinos.
