📊 An air bridge that is reopening
Turkish Airlines confirmed the reactivation of its direct connection between Istanbul and Simón Bolívar International Airport, in Maiquetía, starting October 1, 2026. The service was paused for a while due to refurbishment work at the terminal, and it is now resuming with four weekly flights: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
The inaugural flight was operated by a Boeing 787-900 Dreamliner, with capacity for 300 passengers across 30 business-class seats and 270 in economy. In that first operation, 284 arrivals and 283 departures were recorded—an almost full occupancy that says a lot about the demand for this route.
