📊 A record that puts numbers on the table
The Venezuelan Confederation of Industries (Conindustria) now has a concrete inventory: 902 companies that passed from private hands to state administration and that, in its view, should be returned to their original owners. The figure was provided by the industry association’s president, Tito López, who explained that three out of every four of these companies belong to the primary sector, with a strong presence of farms and units dedicated to food production.
The inventory is not limited to the countryside. It also includes processed food plants, pharmaceutical laboratories, and plastics companies—in other words, links in the middle of the production chain that today operate with varying levels of efficiency under state control.
