Post 3 | Your True No-Loss Exit Is Not the Displayed Break-Even Price

Many traders move a stop to the displayed break-even price and assume that a trigger will close the trade with zero loss. In practice, the break-even price normally incorporates costs that have already occurred. Closing the position creates one more fee.

Let B be the displayed break-even price and f be the expected exit fee rate. Ignoring slippage:

Long true break-even exit ≈ B ÷ (1 − f)

Short true break-even exit ≈ B ÷ (1 + f)

Example: a long position has B = 12.234 and the expected taker fee is 0.05%, so f = 0.0005. The true no-loss exit is approximately 12.234 ÷ 0.9995 = 12.2401. Closing exactly at 12.234 may look flat on the position screen but still loses the exit fee.

The common mistake is treating 0.05% as a universal fee. Your actual rate can vary by product, maker/taker status, VIP level, BNB fee discount, and temporary promotions. Do not memorize 1.0005. Insert the fee rate that applies to your account at that moment.
