I've been investing in crypto since 2017
This is my 3rd market cycle... and honestly?
☠️ This cycle feels completely different from the previous two.
Here's what changed in my view:
1️⃣ No Real Altseason (Yet?)
✳️ $BTC delivered a phenomenal run.
✳️ But where was the classic altseason?
In previous cycles:
✅ $BTC makes ATH
➡️ $ETH follows
➡️ Altcoins explode with 2x–20x moves
This time, the rotation has been weak and very selective.
2️⃣ The Market Is Crowded
Back then, crypto was still a niche.
Now we have:
📈 More users
📈 More influencers
📈 More KOLs
📈 More projects launching every day
Competition for attention has never been higher.
3️⃣ Institutions Are Running The Show
🏦 ETFs
🏦 Funds
🏦 Large capital allocators
Institutional money is driving a huge part of market flows now.
Meanwhile retail participation still feels surprisingly quiet.
4️⃣ Airdrops Replaced ICO Mania
Previously everyone was aping into ICOs
Now users spend months farming:
🎁 Points
🎁 Rewards
🎁 Airdrops
And many token launches fail to deliver the same explosive returns we saw in earlier cycles.
5️⃣ Team Unlocks & Insider Selling
This became one of the biggest narratives of the cycle
⚠️ Massive unlocks
⚠️ Early investor exits
⚠️ Retail absorbing the selling pressure
Many projects seem focused on extraction instead of long-term value creation.
6️⃣ The Four-Year Cycle Doesn't Feel The Same
This is the biggest difference
For years, traders treated the four-year cycle as law.
But now?
🤔 It feels like only Bitcoin truly respected the cycle structure.
Usually we get a clear bull market followed by a painful bear market.
The strange part this time is that many altcoin holders never experienced a proper bull run in the first place.
Still..
Sooner or later, I still believe this market will surprise everyone again.
