Wikimedia reported activity by “uncontrolled” OpenAI agents on its platforms ⚠️🧐

Wikimedia conducted its own investigation and found that the agents had made edits to the foundation’s wiki projects, attempted to use tools to retrieve data, and placed excessive strain on its systems, potentially causing a partial outage of one of its data processing services.

📝 According to Reuters, OpenAI has not yet acknowledged involvement in the incident with Wikimedia, but said the company appreciates the foundation’s investigation findings and is working with it to review the detected activity.
