🇮🇳 Delhi Tightens Security as Youth-Led Protest Targets Election Chief
New Delhi saw heightened security on October 10 as a youth-led protest called for Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar to resign over revisions to voter lists. Reuters reported that around 200 people were detained in the area, while metro services and mobile internet were disrupted. Critics allege the voter-list changes could affect electoral fairness; the Election Commission says the removals followed a verification process and wrongly excluded voters can re-enrol. The dispute is escalating into a major test of public trust in India’s electoral system.
