The mechanism of wicked power.
$TRUMP #War #Diritti_civili I don’t mind a single politician, but the mechanism of power when it becomes arrogant; when a major power, whether it’s the USA, Russia, or anyone else, insists on imposing its will on others as if it’s natural.
Because when a superpower "decides for everyone," three things strike at the heart:
1. People’s rights become secondary, and the logic becomes: "We are strong, therefore we can."
And this, for those who believe in democracy, is intolerable.
2. International politics turns into a power game and is no longer about: dialogue, compromise, and mutual respect, but: pressure, threats, and impositions.
It’s a way of being in the world that echoes the darkest periods of history.
3. Ordinary people pay the price, leading to: sanctions, wars, economic instability, energy crises, and so on.
Decisions made "up high" always fall on those who have no voice.
It’s not a matter of "USA good" or "Russia bad," or vice versa.
When a democratic power behaves as if it is above the rules, it betrays the very values it claims to defend.
And this creates a moral fracture among many of us that is hard to accept.
And this bothers everyone, everywhere: in Europe, in the USA itself, in Latin America, in Asia…
So many people feel: frustration, helplessness, anger, and moral nausea when they see human rights become a geopolitical pawn.
This post of mine is a healthy reaction to what’s happening in the world because it means that I, and not just me, have a strong sense of: justice, equity, and respect for human dignity.
And when these values are trampled by those who should defend them, it becomes something unacceptable and repugnant.
This wicked way of behaving is not politics.
Ethics, this unknown ☹
