Tradeweb launches European credit basket spread trading, and its global trading volume reached $258.4 billion in the first quarter of 2026, up 40%

In the first quarter of 2026, Tradeweb Markets introduced a European credit basket spread trading feature, bringing to Europe the workflow already established in the U.S. corporate bond market. The new functionality enables institutional investors to negotiate and execute the spread versus government bond benchmarks on a package of European corporate bonds in a single electronic trade.

TradeWeb’s global portfolio trading volume reached $258.4 billion in the first quarter of 2026, up 40% from the previous quarter. The growth reflects that institutional investors are increasingly transferring the risks of multiple bonds at the same time, rather than executing each security one by one. According to the company, spread-based execution reduces operational complexity while improving pricing transparency for dealers and asset managers.
