If Dems (or GOPs in the pocket of bank lobby) stand in the way, they will regret it in November,” he said.
As reported, Senators Thom Tillis and Ruben Gallego worked on the bipartisan ethics package, which they sent to the White House yesterday. This is notably a counteroffer to the partisan ethics provision in the CLARITY Act, which the White House and Republican senators agreed on.
In a now-deleted X post, Scaramucci had earlier said that President Trump’s kids were okay with the bipartisan ethics provision, a development which could also prompt the president to sign off on the deal. Although the details of the bipartisan provision remain unclear, sources have said that it includes a role for state attorneys general, according to journalist Eleanor Terrett.
Democrats had opposed the initial ethics provision because it empowers only federal prosecutors to enforce it.
