At this moment I don’t have words to describe the current Venezuelan situation. Truly, these have not been easy days. Between the aftershocks and the fear of another larger earthquake, my family stays on alert.
But also being in a time of job recession keeps us in uncertainty; emergency funds are scarce, food in households is scarce, and social aid sometimes doesn’t reach people.
We’ve been in worse situations, but what characterizes a Venezuelan is their citizenship, their humility, and their heart for helping the most in need—truly, something that has changed all of our lives..!!

The current situation
As a Venezuelan affected by this natural disaster, I share my country’s feelings. Since last Wednesday, June 24, we have been facing a very harsh reality due to the double earthquake and the constant aftershocks that are still battering our nation.
Our prayers are with the rescue teams; we pray that the missing people may be found safe and sound. We also deeply mourn the irreparable loss of human lives.
A message of faith and unity
I ask God to grant us the strength we need to overcome this adversity. The generosity of all of you is a light of hope for us. Any help, no matter how small, is greatly appreciated and will make a difference.
