📉 Is SOL in a short-term downtrend? Here’s what I’ve observed

I’m working on building the habit of analyzing the market before deciding to trade, instead of entering trades based on emotion.

On the SOLUSDT chart I checked at 22:20 on 15/10/2026:

🔹 The price was around 101.62 USDT.
🔹 On the 5-minute timeframe, the price was below MA(7), MA(25), and MA(99).
🔹 Recent rebounds have been weak, so the short-term trend still leans downward.
🔹 The 100.51 level is the most recent low shown on the chart; I’ll watch how the price reacts rather than assume this level will definitely hold.

My plan: wait for a confirming candle, keep an eye on the 15-minute timeframe, and calculate the risk in advance. If the signals aren’t clear or the stop-loss level doesn’t suit my capital, I’ll stay out.

I’m learning how to manage a small account, so I prioritize preserving capital over trying to make a profit every day.

But the latest snapshot of the 5 closest levels in the order book shows only about 5.5 thousand USDT on the bid side and 4.3 thousand USDT on the ask side; the spread is around 0.13%.

Lesson: volume is accumulated trading activity, while depth is the liquidity that can be matched near the current price. Before a large order, compare the order size with the depth and consider slippage. High volume does not guarantee a smooth fill. #QuanLyRuiRo $SAGA

SEC and CFTC jointly call for comments on a unified margin rule for securities and derivatives—an indication that U.S. regulators are adapting to a multi-asset market, including crypto.

Currently, investors holding stocks and crypto derivatives have to calculate margin separately, which is inefficient in terms of capital use. The new proposal focuses on cross-margining, expanding the set of eligible collateral to include digital assets, and updating the risk-management framework. If successful, large institutions will be able to enter the digital derivatives market more easily, boosting liquidity and reducing volatility.
