Over $4.67 billion withdrawn from spot Bitcoin ETF funds in Q2/2026 – a record since launch. BTC fell 14% and extended its third consecutive losing quarter. But don’t rush to conclude that this is a structural retreat.
Institutional flows are rotating strongly into large-cap AI stocks – the S&P 500 rose nearly 15% over the same period. Investors are taking profits from crypto to chase other growth narratives, not “abandon” this asset class. Proof: on-chain infrastructure is still being accumulated. Solana accounts for nearly 79% of DEX tokenized equity volume, while RLUSD on XRPL first surpassed Ethereum.
Notably, gold declined in line with bitcoin (-14.2%), indicating a clear decoupling from Q1. Meanwhile, the Fed keeping interest rates unchanged during the tenure of Chairman Kevin Warsh makes cheap money unlikely to return soon.
Personally, I believe this is a phase of building a structural bottom. Regulatory catalysts such as the CLARITY Act, if passed, could unlock flows from institutional retirement capital. Watch the Q3 ETF flow signals rather than panicking. DYOR and manage risk tightly.
