📰 Payy has launched the stablecoin payment infrastructure Finality. The most interesting change is: on-chain payments can now also set a short-term “recourse window.” If there’s fraud, a mistaken transfer, or a commercial dispute, you can file an appeal.
🔥 The whole process is a bit like credit card chargebacks. The recipient still receives funds instantly. During the window period, the protection responsibility is borne by the liquidity provider. After the payer submits the reasons and evidence, the case is then handed over to a neutral arbitration party for a ruling.
Honestly, this design is pretty realistic. Stablecoin transfers are fast, but when you enter the wrong address or get scammed, it’s often hard to get the funds back. Finality’s goal is to add a processing mechanism between on-chain confirmation and user refunds.
💡 Even if the appeal is approved, it won’t reverse the original on-chain transaction. Instead, the funds recovery is handled separately. Payy is currently inviting payment service providers, liquidity providers, and arbitration parties to join the network.
🤔 If you can only choose one between “irrevocability” and “chargeback-style refund with appeal,” which would you rather use: a traditional stablecoin transfer, or this payment method with a recourse window?
