$ONG is the utility token for the Ontology network. It is a high-performance blockchain focused on decentralized digital identity (Decentralized Identity) and data management.
A dual-token system:
$ONT
: the governance and staking token (voting and securing the network).
ong: the gas token, used to pay transaction fees, execute smart contracts, and store data on the network (similar to Gas in Ethereum).

The mainnet was launched in June #2018 . The total supply was recently updated (November #2025 ) to have a maximum of 800 million ONG (after burning/locking part of the previous supply, which was one billion).
