By 2027, the London Stock Exchange (LSE) will open 24/7—a move that shows how crypto and tokenized securities have exerted enough pressure on traditional finance.
The LSE is consulting major banks to roll out overnight trading in order to hold onto capital that is flowing toward platforms operating around the clock. When the tokenized market can reach $16 trillion by 2030, trading just 8 hours a day becomes outdated.
This development has two sides. On one hand, it confirms the appeal of the 24/7 model that crypto pioneered. On the other hand, low overnight liquidity and high volatility are risks traders need to account for—even if the LSE upgrades its systems, the market’s nature will still be unpredictable.
For me, this is a clear signal: the line between crypto and traditional finance is gradually blurring. But don’t rush into FOMO. Manage risk, do your own research, and get ready for a market with no more downtime.
