SEC public filings show that Peter Mintzberg sold 2,611 shares of GXRP via Cantor Fitzgerald for a total transaction value of only $53,394.
This is his first time reducing his holdings, but he still retains 2.84 million shares of GXRP. The shares sold are less than one-thousandth of his total position.
These shares were obtained through a private placement targeted cash subscription in October 2024, and they are part of an early personal asset allocation.
Current industry backdrop: inflows into spot XRP ETFs across all categories have weakened overall, and GXRP has fallen more than 50% year to date. Several Grayscale insiders among industry leaders reduced their holdings at higher prices earlier this year. This move is more about executives activating idle small amounts of capital in batches, rather than expressing a bearish view of XRP’s fundamentals.
The total size of all U.S. spot XRP ETFs is nearly $970 million, and GXRP accounts for only 6%. Diverting product funds is a normal feature of industry competition.
XRP’s core support still lies in expectations for U.S. regulatory approval and progress on cross-border payments. Sporadic selling of a few tens of thousands of dollars by executives will not change the bigger picture.
