🔥 ETHEREUM ETH JUST BROKE HIGHER DESPITE THE FED HIKE
BREAKING: 🇺🇸 Federal Reserve raises interest rates by 25bps.
Ethereum is trading around $2,579, up more than 4.5%, after recovering strongly from the $2,358.88 low. ETH has now pushed close to the $2,600 psychological level, with the recent 1H high at $2,597.66.
What makes this move interesting is the macro backdrop.
The Federal Reserve just raised rates by 25bps, taking the federal funds target range to 3.75%–4.00%, while policymakers signaled another hike could come before the end of 2026. Normally, tighter monetary policy can create pressure on risk assets.
Yet ETH is showing strong momentum.
On the 1H chart, ETH is trading well above all three major moving averages:
MA(7): $2,535.67
MA(25): $2,485.73
MA(99): $2,456.36
That alignment shows a strong short-term bullish structure. ETH has also reclaimed the previous consolidation area and is now challenging the $2,600–$2,615 resistance zone.
The big question now is simple:
Can ETH hold above $2,550 and break $2,615, or does the Fed-driven volatility trigger a pullback?
A clean breakout above $2,615 could open the door toward the $2,630+ area. But losing the $2,535–$2,500 region would weaken the current momentum and increase the chance of a deeper retracement.
📈 For now, ETH is showing strength but after a 4.5% move, chasing the candle is not the same as having a setup.
