EarthMeta announced on October 11 that its marketplace has reopened on Ethereum, restoring trading of virtual cities and land held as NFTs after its migration from Polygon. The project said final testing was complete and stronger security measures were in place. It did not explain those measures or include an audit report. EarthMeta also added Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, Linea, and Avalanche as payment networks. Together with Ethereum, Polygon, and BNB Chain, it now supports eight networks. Available currencies vary by network. The migration followed an $EMT smart contract exploit disclosed on August 3. EarthMeta reported that an attacker stole 41 million EMT from two project-controlled wallets, including 6 million from a developer testing wallet and 35 million from a staking rewards wallet. After the attacker sold part of the balance, EarthMeta withdrew liquidity and halted trading. It said user wallets, NFTs, accounts, and platform infrastructure were not compromised. An August 3 snapshot determined eligibility for replacement assets. The new $EMT token launched on August 10. By August 14, EarthMeta had announced its NFT migration and the resumption of EMT trading on XT, while trading pools had also opened on Uniswap. #EMT #EarthMeta #gaming #marketplace #Ethereum
