It’s always a good time to buy, and I’ll explain it here. 🙏
#Spot What does it mean to average the cost price in crypto? 📊
When you buy a cryptocurrency at different times and at different prices, your average cost price keeps changing.
For example, imagine you buy BNB:
🔹 First purchase: 1 BNB at $700
🔹 Second purchase: 1 BNB at $500
You’ve invested:
$700 + $500 = $1,200
And you have 2 BNB.
👉 Your average purchase price is:
$1,200 ÷ 2 = $600 per BNB
Even though your first purchase was at $700, by buying again at $500 you managed to lower your average cost price to $600.
This is what many people call “averaging down.”
The strategy is to make additional purchases when the price has fallen, with the goal of reducing the average cost of the coins you already hold.
📌 But beware: averaging down doesn’t eliminate risk. If BNB keeps dropping, your investment can keep losing value too. That’s why it’s important to have a strategy and not buy only because the price went down.
In summary:
Buy at different prices → accumulate different amounts → calculate the total cost ÷ the coins you have = average purchase price.
💡 The goal isn’t simply to buy more, but to understand how each new purchase changes your average price and your break-even point.
