🧠 The Disease and the Cure in Trading: Why do we close profits quickly and hold losses until liquidation?
Many traders have excellent technical analysis, but they still lose their accounts!
Why? Fear and greed. We rush to close the winning trade out of fear of losing profits, and we stubbornly insist on the losing trade hoping for a rebound... until we reach liquidation.
💡 4 golden rules to change this behavior immediately:
Stop Loss (SL) is a red line:
Place it as soon as you open the trade, and absolutely don’t move it back or cancel it when price approaches it. A small loss is part of the game.
Profit Protection System (1:1 Rule):
When price reaches the first target, close 50% of the position, and move the stop loss on the remaining half to the entry point (Break-Even). This way, you trade with calm nerves!
Reduce Position Size:
The reason for tension and stubbornness is a large contract size or high leverage. Don’t risk more than 1% to 2% of your capital in a single trade.
Set & Forget:
Watching candles minute by minute exhausts your nerves and pushes you into emotional decisions. Set your targets and stop loss, then close the platform.
📌 Always remember: trading isn’t just reading a chart—it’s full control over emotion and money management.
