An upper stage of a SpaceX rocket, launched more than a year ago to put two lunar modules into orbit, will impact the Moon this Wednesday after drifting in space, according to CNBC.
Specialist Bill Gray projects that the collision will occur near the Einstein Crater at an approximate speed of 5,400 mph.
🛰️ Tracking and Scientific Study
The impact will generate an estimated crater 90 feet wide by 16 feet deep. NASA missions (LRO) and South Korea’s (Danuri) will take images of the event.
The rocket originally carried Firefly Aerospace’s Blue Ghost lander and the module from Japanese company ispace.
