Few projects in crypto have experienced a journey as extreme as Bored Ape Yacht Club and ApeCoin.
In 2021, four friends launched 10,000 Bored Apes for just 0.08 ETH each. Within a year, Yuga Labs had reached a $4 billion valuation, BAYC became one of the biggest brands in NFTs, and ApeCoin was launched into the center of the ecosystem.
Then the entire market collapsed.
APE went from an all-time high of $26.70 to roughly $0.10, while BAYC lost more than 95% from its peak floor price.
At first glance, it looks like the end of the story.
But what if it isn't?
The project has already survived the hardest part
Yuga Labs didn't disappear after the NFT bubble burst.
The company went through leadership changes, layoffs, legal battles, falling NFT volumes and the collapse of the broader market. Yet it continued developing its ecosystem and is now focusing more heavily on its core BAYC and Otherside vision.
That's what makes the next chapter interesting.
Crypto has a habit of rewarding projects that survive multiple cycles.
BAYC has already survived one of the most brutal resets the NFT market has ever seen.
APE doesn't need to repeat 2021
The biggest mistake would be expecting APE to simply return to $26.70 because it reached that price before.
The next cycle could be completely different.
The interesting question is whether ApeCoin can become part of a larger digital ecosystem rather than remaining a token associated mainly with NFT speculation.
Yuga's continuing focus on Otherside, gaming, creators and digital experiences gives the ecosystem a potential path toward something much bigger than JPEGs.
And this is where the asymmetric opportunity becomes interesting.
A token that has already been crushed by more than 99% doesn't need to return to its previous peak to generate a dramatic move.
A recovery from $0.10 → $0.50 would already represent a 5x.
$0.10 → $1 = 10x.
$0.10 → $5 = 50x.
Those numbers are possibilities, not predictions.
But they explain why heavily beaten-down crypto assets can attract speculative attention when a new cycle begins.
The most important thing: the brand still exists
The BAYC brand became one of the most recognizable projects of the NFT era.
It attracted celebrities, major investors, major auctions and millions of dollars of attention. Yuga also acquired major intellectual property such as CryptoPunks and Meebits before later restructuring its portfolio.
The speculation disappeared.
The brand didn't.
That's a huge difference.
Crypto projects come and go every cycle. Very few create a recognizable global identity before surviving a complete market collapse.
The next bull market could tell a very different story
Imagine a future where:
NFTs return → gaming grows → Otherside gains traction → BAYC becomes culturally relevant again → liquidity returns → APE gains attention.
That combination could create a completely different environment from the 2022 collapse.
Nobody knows whether that will happen.
But that's exactly why APE remains an interesting watch.
The market has already priced in an enormous amount of failure.
The future will determine whether there is another chapter.
My view
I'm not saying APE is guaranteed to recover.
I'm saying that the risk/reward story becomes interesting when a project has already experienced a 99%+ collapse but still has a recognizable brand, an established ecosystem and a team that continues building.
The next APE move may not be about another celebrity buying a JPEG.
It could be about what Yuga manages to build next.
The apes got destroyed once.
The question is whether they can come back stronger in the next cycle.

Nobody knows.
A return to the old ATH would require an enormous increase in market value, so this shouldn’t be treated as a prediction or guaranteed target. But crypto has repeatedly shown that deeply beaten-down coins can move violently when narrative + liquidity + adoption align.
APE has already shown that it can produce explosive moves — it surged more than 80% in 24 hours during one 2026 rally.
So for me…
I’m not saying APE will make a new ATH.
I’m saying… let’s wait and watch what happens when the next supercycle really begins. 🦍🔥
