BNB finalized-block query set for completion | RPC proposal still under review | Manage risk around 712 My stance is to watch cautiously. On November 3, pull request #617 appeared in the BNB Chain reth-bsc repository, proposing a working implementation and integration tests for the node’s eth_newFinalizedHeaderFilter. The proposal notes that although this method is listed in the existing interface, calls to it may actually return “Method not found.” Upstream pull request #251 in bnb-chain/reth is also addressing the same capability. Both requests are still Open, and their target branches are not deployed on mainnet. The code proposals should not be presented as a completed upgrade, nor should they be taken as evidence of new buying demand for BNB. This is worth watching because indexers, deposit monitors, and risk-control systems that track finalized blocks need to poll finalized block headers reliably. If the feature is ultimately merged and deployed, related services will have a more complete way to retrieve deterministic events, reducing the need to piece together node data themselves. But this affects data access and operational convenience, not consensus finality rules, and it does not mean exchange deposits or withdrawals have resumed. The proposal also sets a buffer limit of 4,096 events; if a client falls behind, it may receive a filter-expiration notice and need to create a new filter and verify the finalized block height. An interruption with no events received must not be interpreted as meaning that no new blocks were added to the chain. Whether the requests are merged, when they are released, and whether individual nodes adopt them all depend on future official updates. The market has yet to offer evidence that “positive development news has been priced in.” I checked the BNB/USD quote on Kraken: it was around $712.55, below the day’s opening price of around $719.81. The day’s range was approximately $711.84–$721.33, while the rolling 24-hour low and high were around $697.79 and $722.71. This is only a quote snapshot; the pull request should not be blamed for the decline. In the short term, first watch whether $711.84 holds; if it breaks, keep an eye on $697.79. To the upside, watch $721.33 first, followed by $722.71. If the price falls below $697.79 without a quick recovery, or if the pull request is closed or official explanations differ from expectations, my view that a modest recovery is possible would be invalidated. If I were trading this myself, I would stay out for now. I would only consider a small spot long in the direction of the trend—not shorting or using leverage. I would consider a test position only if the hourly chart makes a sustained move above $722.71, holds that level on a retest, and a project announcement confirms progress, with no more than 1% of total capital at risk. The first target would be $730, where I would take half off; the second target would be $740, with a protective stop moved up on the remaining position. If the price falls back below $711.84 after entry, I would stop out. If it cannot regain and hold above $722.71 within two days, or if the exchange or official on-chain sources issue a new risk announcement, I would close the position proactively. If none of these conditions are met, I would remain in cash and not present observation as a trade.
