A new Geth PR
#36080 proposes allowing Prague request contract addresses to be specified in the chain configuration, with separate addresses for withdrawal requests and validator consolidation requests; if none are set, it still falls back to Ethereum’s standard predeployed addresses. The author cites chains such as Linea, which have different address arrangements, showing that the same client’s handling logic needs to read the configuration for the chain it is running on. For ecosystem applications on
$ETH , reusing a client implementation does not mean that every chain has the same system contract addresses. This is a public change pending review, and the author also explicitly states that they did not run the Go test suite locally, so CI verification is still needed; it cannot currently be treated as a capability included in a released version.
