Bitcoin (BTC) has once again returned to the $70,000 level after briefly falling below it and struggling to make a decisive recovery. Despite several altcoins, such as ETH, BNB, DOGE, and SHIB, experiencing daily losses, Solana (SOL) has performed well and is nearing the $200 mark. BTC's market capitalization is still around $20 billion short of $1.4 trillion, with its dominance over altcoins at 49.7% on CoinGecko. Meanwhile, Soana and Toncoin have emerged as top performers, with SOL gaining almost 6% overnight. Ripple, Cardano, Avalanche, Polkadot, Chainlink, and Tron are also in the green, albeit more modestly. The total crypto market cap remains relatively unchanged on a daily basis, currently sitting below $2.8 trillion.

Blockchain intelligence firm TRM Labs reports a significant increase in cryptocurrency deposits to Chinese drug precursor manufacturers in early 2024, more than doubling compared to the same period in 2023. In 2023, these networks received over $26 million in cryptocurrency, with 97% of the 120 manufacturers studied offering payment options in digital currencies. Bitcoin remains the dominant cryptocurrency for these transactions, accounting for approximately 60% of the total payment volume. The TRON blockchain saw about 30% of transactions, while Ethereum was used for roughly 6%. The report also highlighted that 11 manufacturers were responsible for over 70% of all crypto-denominated sales of drug precursors. These manufacturers receive funds from unhosted wallets, cryptocurrency exchanges, and payment services, with their wallets most commonly hosted at exchanges. In addition to cryptocurrencies, Chinese manufacturers also accept fiat currencies through platforms like PayPal, MoneyGram, Western Union, and traditional bank transfers. The report revealed that Chinese drug precursor manufacturers mainly target countries including Canada, the Netherlands, Australia, Germany, and the United States. China's role in the global illicit fentanyl trade has been highlighted, with the country manufacturing over 97% of the precursors used.

Despite a challenging week for the crypto market, Ethereum (ETH) maintains a bullish outlook. After a 4.4% loss, it's now resting at a key support level of $3,500. ADA's price fell by 6.5% and DOGE by 7.4%. However, ADA's key support at 37 cents and DOGE's at 13.5 cents could potentially halt their downtrends. Despite the short-term bearish outlook, the long-term perspective for the crypto market remains positive. The market's resilience and potential for recovery continue to attract investors.

Grayscale's GBTC, once the world's largest exchange-traded fund tracking Bitcoin's performance, has lost its position due to significant outflows since mid-January. In a surprising turn of events, Fidelity's FBTC took the lead in outflows in the last two trading days of the week, marking the first time another ETF has surpassed GBTC in this regard. Data from FarSide reveals that four out of five trading days saw negative flows, with a total of $881.4 million withdrawn from the 11 ETFs. Notably, GBTC, which has seen over $18 billion in outflows since its conversion, was not the leader on Thursday and Friday, with outflows of $61.5 million and $52.3 million respectively. In contrast, FBTC saw outflows skyrocket to $106.4 million on Thursday and $80.1 million on Friday.
