Tezos, a blockchain platform that supports smart contracts and dApps, has laid out in a blog post details regarding its 12th protocol upgrade proposal called Lima, following on the heels of its last release, Kathmandu.
The upgrade will bring more pipelining for a faster blockchain, introduces consensus keys, and ghostnet fixes. Other changes include improvements to tickets, to deprecate the creation, storage and transfer of 'zero-amount' tickets, which should reduce the risk of bugs in smart contracts.
Within the Tezos network, XTZ is the token used for all operations. With the incorporation of features such as Liquid Proof-of-Stake and on-chain governance, throughput is traded for a higher level of decentralization. The Tezos blockchain is also known for low transaction costs, and is a chain that can self-upgrade.
