Zcash Faces 424% Liquidation Imbalance Amid Short Squeeze
Zcash rose above the landmark $1000 price point as a sharp rally forced short traders out of leveraged positions. Privacy token Zcash (ZEC) faces a 562% liquidation imbalance after a sharp rally forced traders betting against the token out of leveraged positions. Zcash traded as high as $1,051 on September 4, 2026, building on a sharp surge from a low of $805 on September 3, 2026. Days ago, Zcash witnessed choppy price action as its rally could not break $888, which could be the reason behind traders' bearish stance. Instead, Zcash ripped higher, surpassing the $1,000 mark for the first time since 2018. Zcash's latest price surge caught traders betting against Zcash's increase off guard. About $13.24 million of leveraged ZEC positions were liquidated over the past 24 hours, with $11.26 million coming from shorts and $1.98 million from longs, according to CoinGlass data. The percentage imbalance between longs and shorts yields 562%.

According to his post, all seven spot XRP ETFs in the U.S. entered the green during the trading session, recording an interim trading volume of $19.7 million. On spot exchanges, XRP was trading around $1.44 at the time, up 7.04% over the past 24 hours, confirming a breakout from its local descending channel and a rebound from the August low of $1.00.

Evernorth eyes DeFi opportunities as XRP Ledger weighs native lending
Evernorth is looking to deploy its XRP holdings across the XRP Ledger ecosystem as proposed lending functionality moves through the network's review process, according to Chief Business Officer Sagar Shah. Speaking to The Block's Kelvin Sparks at the Wyoming Blockchain Symposium 2026, Shah said Evernorth was built as an XRP-focused digital asset treasury with the aim of putting its holdings to use rather than simply holding them. The company is also in the process of going public, he said. Shah is particularly excited about XLS-66, a proposal designed to bring native lending functionality to the XRP Ledger. Shah argued that implementing XLS-66 at the ledger level could offer greater protections than DeFi applications built through smart contracts on top of other networks. XRP Ledger's DeFi push "Because it's natively built into the ledger, I think a lot of the protections that exist, smart contract exploits might exist with other chains, are almost non-existent on the XRP Ledger," Shah said. Validators are currently reviewing the code and assessing its robustness as the proposal moves forward. Shah, who previously spent five years at Ripple, also highlighted confidential transfers and smart escrows as additional functions that could broaden the XRP Ledger's use in real-world assets. He said roughly $30 billion in assets are currently tokenized, while the market could potentially run into the trillions.

Its materials also describe one-click leverage and support across networks such as Ethereum, Arbitrum, and BNB Chain.
