அந்த காலத்தில், Binance ஒரு வர்த்தகப் பிரச்சாரத்தைத் தொடங்கியிருந்ததால்—வர்த்தக அளவை அடிப்படையாகக் கொண்டு முதல் 5,000 வர்த்தகர்களுக்கு பரிசுகள் வழங்கப்படும்—அதனால் நான் Spot-ல் SAHARA-வை வர்த்தகம் செய்து பார்த்தேன். இயற்கையாகவே, முயற்சி செய்வதாகத் தீர்மானித்தேன். எனது வர்த்தக அளவையும் லீடர்போர்டையும் கவனித்துக்கொண்டே SAHARA-வை வாங்கி விற்பனை செய்ய ஆரம்பித்தேன். ஆரம்பத்தில், நேர்மையாகச் சொன்னால், எனக்கு ஒரு வாய்ப்பு இருக்கிறது என்று நினைத்தேன். பிரச்சார காலமெங்கும் தொடர்ந்து வர்த்தகம் செய்து கொண்டிருந்தால், இறுதியில் முதல் 5,000 இடத்தில் இடம் பிடிக்க முடியும் என்று கருதினேன்.

When I first started trading crypto, there was one trade I knew I would never forget.
Even now, whenever I think about it, I still tell myself, “I really should have set a Stop Loss that time.” 😅
Back then, I had only just started experimenting with Futures Trading. I didn’t know much about charts or technical analysis yet. But the market was going up, and I started feeling that familiar FOMO — that feeling of “If I don’t enter now, I’m going to miss it.”
So eventually, I told myself, “It’s probably going to keep going up,” and opened a Long Position.
Not long after I entered, the price actually started going up.
I still remember how happy I was seeing that green Profit number on my phone.
I was literally thinking:
“I made the right decision.” 😂
The problem was, I hadn’t really decided where to take profit. I hadn’t set a Stop Loss either.
And when the profit kept increasing, I didn’t want to close the position because I thought, “Maybe it’ll go even higher.”
And then…
📉 The price suddenly started dropping.
At first, I wasn’t too worried.
“It’s just a temporary pullback… it’ll come back up.”
So I waited.
But it didn’t go back up like I expected.
It kept falling.
The profit I had been happily watching slowly disappeared.
Profit became zero.
Then it turned into a loss.
At that point, I kept checking my phone over and over. I didn’t want to close because I knew I would be locking in a big loss, but at the same time, the position was getting closer to liquidation, which made me even more nervous.
Eventually, I couldn’t wait any longer and closed the position at a loss.
It was honestly a strange feeling — going from being so happy about the profit to feeling completely stressed out by the same trade within such a short time.
After that trade, I sat down and really thought about what I had done wrong.
The truth was, I couldn’t blame the market.
I simply didn’t have a plan.
I hadn’t decided where to take profit.
I hadn’t decided where to cut my loss.
I saw the price going up and entered because of FOMO.
After that experience, I started asking myself a few questions before entering a trade:
“How much risk am I willing to take on this trade?”
“If I’m wrong, where will I exit?”
Instead of immediately entering whenever I saw the price going up, I started paying more attention to my Entry, Exit, and Risk before making a decision.
I lost money on that trade.
But that loss became one of the most valuable lessons in my crypto journey.
In trading, knowing how much you could lose if you’re wrong is just as important — if not more important — than thinking about how much you could make.
Looking back now, I don’t really hate that trade anymore.
Because that one experience taught me firsthand how dangerous FOMO can be, how important a Stop Loss is, and how quickly greed can change the way we make decisions when we’re already in profit.
