$BTC bounced back above $80,000 after Democrats swept Congress, but crypto’s biggest bill just got a deadline. Bitcoin sank to a seven-week low of $75,618 on election night, then climbed back past $80,000 as results settled. Analysts called it priced in: Polymarket had given Democrats a 65.5% chance of taking both chambers at the start of the week. The real casualty is the CLARITY Act. It passed the House 294-134 in July 2025 and cleared Senate Banking 15-9 in May, then hit a wall on the Senate floor on September 15, falling 49-50 on a vote that needed 60. Ethics, the fight over officials’ crypto interests, was the main reason it failed, and it hasn’t gone anywhere. The clock now runs to January 3, when the new Congress convenes and the bill would have to be reintroduced. A motion to reconsider is on file, so a lame-duck vote is possible, but that session is expected to be crowded with government funding fights. For $BTC itself, the damage may be limited. Bitwise’s André Dragosch notes Democrats can’t simply undo the SEC and CFTC guidance already in place, and he expects little change over the next two years. Most analysts want to see ETF inflows and a decisive move above $82,000. So will CLARITY make it? Only with an ethics deal and 11 votes it didn’t have in September. Crypto groups spent more than $300 million across two election cycles backing candidates. #BTC Price Analysis# #Macro Insights# #Bitcoin Price Prediction: What is Bitcoins next move?#
