Hackers took about $6.3 billion from Binance on Thursday, making the breach the largest cryptocurrency theft on record. Onchain investigators attributed the attack to hackers backed by North Korea. Binance pledged full reimbursement and said the exchange had allocated more than $6.34 billion of company money to cover losses. Binance's withdrawals remained suspended on Friday afternoon. Binance aims to restart withdrawals within 40 hours after co-CEO Richard Teng's latest update and release a full proof-of-reserves report by Monday.
