Datavault AI shares fell nearly 40% after the company warned investors not to rely on four sets of financial statements dating back to the third quarter of 2025. Datavault determined that bitcoin received under a $150 million equity agreement with Scilex did not qualify for recognition as Datavault's digital asset. The company will instead recognize a subscription receivable from Scilex as a reduction of stockholders' equity. The filing projects asset reductions ranging from $8.1 million to $92.2 million across the affected reporting dates. Datavault has not scheduled the restated filings and warned that the preliminary, unaudited review could uncover additional errors.
