Glassnode data showed Bitcoin's transfer value increased 26% to $5.5 billion last week. Glassnode's October 26 report showed total transaction fees fell 8.8% to $185,200 from $203,200 a week earlier. Daily active addresses dropped 2.2% to 615,200, according to Glassnode. Transaction fees have contributed less than 1% of miner revenue for much of the past year, Pool BTC noted. The next halving, expected in 2028, will halve block subsidies, leaving miners needing higher Bitcoin prices or lower operating costs unless transaction fees rise sufficiently.
