Most blockchains make trading activity visible, including the intentions behind orders. This can expose trading strategies before they even execute. That's where @Nillion Covenants stand out.
Covenants let users create encrypted instructions, such as stop-loss orders or auction bids, that remain private until their conditions are met. This could help protect trading strategies from being exposed to the market too early.
Dusk, the first release of Covenants, is now live on Ethereum mainnet. This is a real launch, not a testnet. Builders can create Covenants, run nodes, and build with the SDK today.
But Dusk is only the beginning. It's the first of seven eras on Nillion roadmap, with more releases coming before the end of the year. I'm looking forward to seeing how these developments expand what's possible with Encrypted Markets.
For me, the exciting part is the potential to make onchain trading more private without sacrificing permissionless execution. As Nillion develops this vision, $NIL is worth watching.
Onchain privacy could go beyond protecting transactions. It could also protect the intent behind them.
