Bitcoin News | Bitcoin Loses $83,000 Again as One Inflation Print Turns Stocks, Gold and Crypto Negative Together
Bitcoin fell below $83,000 on Wednesday after September inflation data came in hotter than forecast, surrendering the level it had reclaimed two sessions earlier. US stock index futures flipped from positive to negative, with Nasdaq futures down 0.5%, while spot gold lost close to 1% and spot silver close to 2%.
Bitcoin Gave Back the Week’s Recovery in Two Sessions
The $83,000 level has changed hands three times this week.
Bitcoin sat below it after Monday’s selloff, reclaimed it during Tuesday’s rebound, and lost it again on Wednesday’s inflation print. The net effect is a round trip rather than a fresh leg down, and it leaves the asset roughly where it started the week.
That pattern says the rebound was never built on anything durable. A recovery that one data release can fully undo was a positioning move, not a shift in the underlying bid.
Everything Moved the Same Way, and Nothing Moved Far
The coordination across asset classes is the more useful observation than any single percentage.
Equity futures, both precious metals and Bitcoin all repriced lower within minutes of the same release. That uniformity points to a single driver — the expected path of interest rates — rather than anything specific to any one market. The magnitudes are modest. A half-percent on index futures and one to two percent on metals, following an inflation overshoot of 0.1 percentage point on both the headline and core measures, describes an orderly adjustment of rate assumptions. It is not a market in distress, and the data does not support stronger language than that.
