Attackers took over refrigeration software at hundreds of stores across France this week and raised temperatures to 50°C. Carrefour said 80 stores were affected. Intermarché owner Les Mousquetaires reported around 150 affected stores. Fresh and frozen food worth millions of euros spoiled, and Reuters reported that the incident triggered fires at several stores. A person in Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu's office said Lecornu instructed France's National Cybersecurity Agency to investigate.
