Bitcoin climbed back above $60,000 on Wednesday, a level the market had surrendered during the past couple of weeks of turbulence. The coin traded near $60,171 in the afternoon, up about 2.7% on the day, with a 24-hour high of $60,474 and a low of $57,718. Session volume reached $26.68 billion. $BTC
The shift came from the Federal Reserve. Chair Kevin Warsh told a central bank forum in Sintra, Portugal, that the threat of persistent inflation had moderated, pointing to cooler inflation expectations in surveys and bond prices. He paired that with a warning that price growth remains too elevated and that the Fed will not accept inflation above its 2% target. "We're going to deliver price stability," he said.
Markets read the balance as relief. U.S. stocks rose, the dollar retreated from a weekly high, and risk assets including $BTC caught a bid. A softer dollar tends to lift demand for Bitcoin and similar assets.
Bitcoin treasury companies moved harder than the coin. Strategy (MSTR) rose close to 7.5% on the day, with intraday highs near 13%. Strive (ASST) jumped more than 10% at times, touching $12.02. Both trade as leveraged proxies for Bitcoin, so their swings tend to exceed those of the asset itself. Strive has spent 2026 building a treasury that now tops 16,000 BTC, and the stock has climbed more than 100% across three months.
Strategy also rolled out a new Digital Credit Capital Framework. It raises the dividend on its STRC preferred shares to 12%, authorizes up to $2 billion in share buybacks, and creates a bitcoin monetization program allowing limited BTC sales for specific corporate purposes. A $2.55 billion U.S. dollar reserve is meant to cover preferred dividends and debt interest, with board rules requiring at least 12 months of coverage at all times. Any bitcoin sales would be limited to replenishing reserves, funding dividends and interest when preferable to issuing equity, or financing stock buybacks, while the company reaffirmed bitcoin as its primary treasury asset.
The rally is still only a reprieve. Bitcoin sits roughly 30% below where it started 2026 and more than $66,000 under its record of $126,277, a slide that keeps the bear-market label in view. Its market value stands near $1.2 trillion, and whether this bounce holds remains unconfirmed.
