The latest $AUKI community update was one not to miss. Nil's live demo showed some really interesting pieces of what Auki is building. What stood out to me was that while the demo was taking place in a retail environment, Nils explained that they’re also working on the home environment, including a generic harness that isn’t tied specifically to retail. He showed Galbot connected to a home server on his laptop, with the ability to see through the robot’s camera and switch into a teleoperator view where digital information from the environment could be overlaid directly onto the camera view on the phone. You can have a companion in the same environment, give it instructions, and even leave notes tied to specific locations. Something as simple as “clean this” could be placed at a specific spot and then seen there through the AR view. Nils also brought in a second robot and spoke about collaborative mapping, with multiple devices contributing to the same spatial understanding. Multiple robots and devices operating in the same environment will need to share what they discover, understand the same space, and eventually leave information or instructions for one another. The retail environment may be one place to demonstrate the technology, but the work being done around the home shows how much broader the potential can be. That’s what caught my attention from this week’s community update. So now you have Auki working on both the retail and consumer sides of things. Bullish.
