Around $15 million in $USDC may have been sitting unclaimed since the collapse of FTX. An on-chain message sent to a wallet associated with Alameda Research recently pointed to two Rainbow Bridge transfers from November 7 and 8, 2022, worth roughly $10 million and $5 million. The interesting part is what may have happened next. The funds appear to have entered the bridge process, while the final claim on Ethereum $ETH may still be available. If that interpretation is correct, nearly $15 million could have remained untouched throughout one of the most chaotic periods in crypto history. The timing makes this even more fascinating. These transactions happened right as FTX and Alameda were collapsing and huge amounts of capital were moving across wallets and exchanges. Years later, the transaction history is still sitting on-chain for anyone to inspect. That is what makes blockchain transparency so powerful. Even during total chaos, the ledger keeps the receipts. And sometimes, those receipts can be worth millions.
