Bitget hack
Bitget suffered a massive hack of roughly 387.5 million dollars, higher than the initial estimate of 351.6 million. The exchange immediately paused withdrawals, and evidence points toward a North Korea linked attack. What's most alarming is that the hacker began laundering the stolen funds through THORChain swaps, echoing the exact same pattern seen in Bybit's 1.2 billion dollar hack. Bitget CEO Gracy Chen has publicly urged THORChain to deny service to these addresses, but the protocol's track record shows it has largely ignored such requests before. This incident once again highlights how easily cross chain protocols can become tools for money laundering in the crypto space.
