The U.S. Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased 0.4% in August, accelerating from the 0.1% rise in July, according to the Labor Department.
On a yearly basis, prices climbed 3.4%, remaining unchanged from July.
Core CPI, which excludes food and energy, rose 0.3% month-over-month and 2.4% year-over-year, compared with 0.2% and 2.5% respectively in July.
