At first, my entire trading strategy consisted of going into Binance Square, finding a coin with good promotion, seeing green candles and buying it in hopes of not being the last to hop on this hype train. Sometimes, I got lucky and the strategy worked. Other times, I found myself being the one buying exactly where the previous person exited.

Trading pump coins feels thrilling and exciting. At least until you get your account filled with losses due to those green candles turning red the very minute you decide to get into this particular market.

That's when it dawns on you — chasing pump coins isn't trading at all. It's reacting to someone else's actions.

But by changing my focus and getting into spot trading, I've learned something new and changed my whole mindset regarding trading.

Why Chasing Green Candles Doesn't Work

Chasing pumps is a state of permanent urgency where you're just trying to keep up. This means you don't analyze anything — you're just trying not to miss out on this opportunity. And when you trade from fear of missing out, each trade becomes purely emotional. You enter when the price is already high, panic early and end

There will never be a post on building up spot portfolio over months and years. This is not glamorous. It won't give you an engagement that a tenfold gain from futures trade would give. But it was never intended to destroy you in a day.

Pumping yourself up for a dose of dopamine is pumping. Accumulating the process with spot trading is accumulating the process. And one of them has to be sustainable.

The Thing I Would Say To Anyone Starting in Crypto

If you're just getting into crypto and seeing only successful trades in green in your feed, understand that this is only part of the picture. For each time he makes a post on earning huge amounts, there were a dozen other times when he lost and did not say anything about it.

Spot trading will not make you a millionaire overnight. But it will teach you one of the most important skills you will need in the long run – how to endure without constant reaction to live charts.

This trade was not made for pumping.
