What I find interesting about Dusk isn’t just “privacy on a blockchain.” That part has been done before.
The harder bit is keeping financial data private while still proving that everything happened the right way.
Dusk’s Confidential Security Contracts are built around that idea. A contract can work with sensitive information without exposing all of it to the whole network. Sounds simple on paper, but finance is messy. A regulator might need access. An auditor may need proof. A counterparty needs some information, while everyone else probably shouldn’t see it.
That’s where Dusk gets genuinely interesting.
The trade-off is that confidential computation can be heavier and more complicated than transparent blockchain activity. And connecting private financial data with custody platforms, identity systems and other networks won’t exactly be a walk in the park.
So I wouldn’t judge Dusk just by asking whether it can “hide transactions.”
The bigger question is whether it can make privacy, verification and real financial workflows live together without making the whole thing painfully complicated.
