Sam Bankman-Fried, former CEO of the collapsed cryptocurrency exchange FTX, is set to face a criminal trial from Oct. 4 to Nov. 9. The trial follows FTX's bankruptcy proceedings in November 2022, which saw $8.9 billion of customer deposits and investor funds go missing. Bankman-Fried has been charged with seven counts of conspiracy and fraud relating to the exchange's collapse. Legal experts suggest this could be one of the most significant fraud cases in U.S. history. If found guilty, Bankman-Fried could face over 100 years in prison.
