One coin reclaiming its trend line, one sitting right on a 2-month floor. Two scenarios for the weekend 👇 🟢 $LINK LONG (pullback buy) Price: 11.46 (Binance spot, 08:40 KST Oct 31) Entry: 11.15-11.30 Stop: 4h close below 10.90 T1: 11.95-12.02 | T2: 12.70-12.80 Why: higher lows since the 10.27 flush (10.91, 11.02, 11.09) and price back above the 4h MA20 (~11.45), right after Link:NYC brought Chainlink 24/7 with Aave and CustodySync with Anchorage. 🔴 $TRX SHORT (retest fade) Price: 0.3290 (Binance spot, 08:40 KST Oct 31) Entry: 0.3305-0.3325 Stop: 4h close above 0.3360 T1: 0.3275 | T2: 0.3220-0.3230 Why: the Oct 29 spike to 0.3654 fully round-tripped, price lost its old 0.331 base and is pressing the 0.327 Oct lows. $AAVE and $UNI bounce ~12% off their lows while BTC stays red. Short squeeze or dead-cat? Binance data, 08:00 KST Oct 31: • AAVE 128.5 (+7.3% 24h), up from a 115.2 low. Funding still negative (-0.012%), so shorts are paying while price climbs. OI flat ~$52M. • UNI 7.00 (+9.2% 24h, $94M spot vol), up from 6.26. Funding ~0, top-trader positions 3.1 long per short. OI ~$147M, down from ~$161M. • BTC 76,945 (-2.6%). Both are still well below their 20-day averages (AAVE ~146.8, UNI ~7.18), so this is a relief bounce inside a downtrend until proven otherwise. Bull case: AAVE reclaims 134 (prior daily close) and holds, which opens 138-139. UNI closes a day above 7.18-7.25 with volume, which targets 7.50. Bear case: AAVE loses 118-119, retest 115. UNI back under 6.47, retest 6.25. Risk: negative funding into a rally can flip fast. If BTC loses 76K, alt bounces usually get sold first. Size small and use stops. $XPL +15% while $BTC bleeds. Plasma bounced from 0.0682 to 0.0817 in 24h and sits near 0.0800 on Binance, one of the few green majors on a day BTC is down ~2.7%. $BTC just printed a fresh low at 76,326 on Binance spot, slipping under Friday's ~76.5K liquidation wick. That's the lowest level since Sep 18. Now 76,714 (-5.1% 24h). And the crowd is still leaning long: • Account long/short ratio rose 2.46 → 2.64 (≈73% of accounts long) as price fell • Top traders' position ratio eased 1.71 → 1.69 • Funding still positive (+0.01%), so longs are paying to hold • Open interest flat around $7.4B, last-hour taker buy/sell 0.84 (sellers in control) (Binance futures data, 03:59 KST) Context: Friday's flush wiped ~$1.5B in leveraged positions, ~84% of them longs (CoinGlass via CoinDesk). Many traders bought that dip, and it's now being retested. Bull case: 76.0–76.3K holds (Sep 11 low ~76.05K), late longs survive, and a reclaim of 77.6–78.1K flips momentum back toward the 20-day average near 81.4K. The $1.5B Leverage Flush: BTC Wicks to 76.5K, ETH Hits 2-Month Low, and the Crowd Is Still Long$1.5B in leveraged bets got wiped out in one selloff, and the crowd is still leaning long. That's the part of today's move I can't stop looking at. Price flushed, open interest dropped, yet retail positioning on the two biggest coins barely changed its mind. Here's what the data says, and what could happen next. What happened The selloff hit hard and fast. $BTC wicked down to 76,500 on Binance spot, its lowest print in the last 14 days, after trading as high as 81,971 in the previous 24 hours. $ETH fell to 2,174, its lowest daily low since mid-August. CoinDesk, citing CoinGlass data, put total leveraged liquidations at roughly $1.5 billion across BTC, ETH and XRP. About $358 million of that was ETH positions alone. As of 20:02 (UTC+9) on Binance spot: - BTC: 77,800, down 3.07% in 24h (range 76,500 to 81,971) - ETH: 2,250, down 3.26% in 24h (range 2,174 to 2,380) Both now trade below their 20-day and 50-day averages (daily closes, Binance spot): - BTC: MA20 about 81,440, MA50 about 81,960 - ETH: MA20 about 2,396, MA50 about 2,528 The leverage reset, by the numbers Open interest on Binance USDT-margined perpetuals (daily snapshots): - BTCUSDT: about $7.79B to $7.39B, roughly $400M of positions gone - ETHUSDT: about $5.55B to $5.23B, roughly $320M gone That's the classic flush: forced selling closes positions, price overshoots, and open interest falls. But look at who is still positioned where (Binance futures, 4h data): - BTC global account long/short ratio: 2.71 to 2.30. Roughly 70% of accounts are still long. - ETH global account long/short ratio: 3.49 to 3.18. Roughly 76% of accounts are still long. - Top-trader position ratio is much lower: BTC 1.75 to 1.72, ETH 1.75 to 1.67. So the average account is far more bullish than the larger traders, and the bigger players have been trimming longs into the drop. Funding is close to flat (BTC about +0.009%, ETH about +0.0007% per 8h), so there's no extreme crowding on rates, but the account skew is heavy. Spot demand isn't helping either. Farside data shows US spot ETH ETFs posted a fourth straight day of outflows on Oct 29 (about $105.5M), roughly $275.7M across Oct 26 to 29. Why it matters Liquidation cascades usually do one of two things: they clear out leverage and set a base, or they're the first leg of a deeper reset. The difference often comes down to whether the crowd actually de-risks. Today, open interest fell, but account ratios stayed lopsided. When most accounts are long while larger traders reduce exposure, dips tend to get sold until positioning evens out. That doesn't mean it has to drop further. It means bounces may struggle until either shorts build up or spot buyers step in. Bull scenario - BTC reclaims 78,800 (the high of the current daily candle) and then the 81,000 to 82,000 zone where the 20 and 50-day averages sit. A daily close back above that area would suggest the flush cleared weak hands. - ETH holds 2,174 on a closing basis and pushes back above 2,260, then 2,330 to 2,395. Recovering the MA20 would turn this into a failed breakdown. - Watch for funding turning negative while price holds. Shorts piling into support is often bounce fuel. Bear scenario - BTC loses 76,500. That's the line the market defended today, and a clean break opens room for another round of long liquidations. - ETH closes below 2,174, which would mark a new low in this move with ETF outflows still running. - Account long/short ratios staying above 2 to 3 while price slides would mean the crowd is still averaging down, which usually extends the pain. The $1.5B Leverage Flush: BTC Wicks to 76.5K, ETH Hits 2-Month Low, and the Crowd Is Still Long

$1.5B in leveraged bets got wiped out in one selloff, and the crowd is still leaning long.
That's the part of today's move I can't stop looking at. Price flushed, open interest dropped, yet retail positioning on the two biggest coins barely changed its mind. Here's what the data says, and what could happen next.
What happened
The selloff hit hard and fast.
As of 20:02 (UTC+9) on Binance spot:
- BTC: 77,800, down 3.07% in 24h (range 76,500 to 81,971)
- ETH: 2,250, down 3.26% in 24h (range 2,174 to 2,380)
Both now trade below their 20-day and 50-day averages (daily closes, Binance spot):
- BTC: MA20 about 81,440, MA50 about 81,960
- ETH: MA20 about 2,396, MA50 about 2,528
The leverage reset, by the numbers
Open interest on Binance USDT-margined perpetuals (daily snapshots):
- BTCUSDT: about $7.79B to $7.39B, roughly $400M of positions gone
- ETHUSDT: about $5.55B to $5.23B, roughly $320M gone
That's the classic flush: forced selling closes positions, price overshoots, and open interest falls.
But look at who is still positioned where (Binance futures, 4h data):
- BTC global account long/short ratio: 2.71 to 2.30.
Why it matters
Liquidation cascades usually do one of two things: they clear out leverage and set a base, or they're the first leg of a deeper reset.
Bull scenario
- BTC reclaims 78,800 (the high of the current daily candle) and then the 81,000 to 82,000 zone where the 20 and 50-day averages sit.
Bear scenario
- BTC loses 76,500.
Risks to watch
- Leverage: account positioning is still long-heavy, so another wick can trigger a second cascade.
- Flows: ETF outflows haven't flipped yet. A day of inflows would be the first sign of spot demand returning.
- Volatility: after a $1.5B flush, wicks both ways are normal. Wide stops and smaller size matter more than usual.
- Data limits: long/short ratios are Binance-only snapshots and don't show the whole market.
My take
The flush did part of the job. Open interest came down and funding cooled. But positioning tells me the crowd hasn't capitulated yet, and the bigger players are lighter than retail. I'd rather wait for a reclaim of 78,800 on BTC or 2,260 on ETH than try to catch the exact bottom.

Starknet holders just voted to study leaving Ethereum. Not to leave. To study it. The facts: • Non-binding Snapshot poll, Oct 15-22, open to STRK stakers and delegators • 93.52% of voting power in favor, 3,236 votes, the highest turnout in Starknet governance history (StarkWare abstained) • Question: should Starknet research becoming an independent, post-quantum Layer 1? • StarkWare + Starknet Foundation have formed a working group; a draft white paper is expected in November • STRK stays the native token, no new token planned, Ethereum bridges expected to stay open • Any actual move needs a separate, binding governance vote Why it's on the table: STARK proofs are hash-based and accounts can adopt post-quantum signatures, but the bridge and data availability lean on Ethereum's elliptic-curve crypto. StarkWare wants quantum safety by 2027; Ethereum's target is 2029. The market isn't buying the story yet. $STRK at 0.0464 (-6.1% 24h, Binance spot 16:18 KST), sitting on its 14-day low of 0.0457. Bull case: a credible white paper turns "quantum-ready" into a real differentiator and STRK gets a narrative beyond L2 fees. Bear case: leaving Ethereum means building its own consensus and validator security, fragmenting liquidity, and years of execution risk. Fresh lows show sellers still in charge. How it works: • Trade sports, politics, economics and culture markets in the Phantom app • KYC is done with Kalshi, a CFTC-registered exchange that holds the accounts and executes trades • Funding via Phantom's dollar-pegged CASH stablecoin; winnings go back to Phantom Cash • Fee quoted at $0.02 per contract plus a small network fee • Phantom relies on CFTC no-action relief (Staff Letter 26-09) to avoid introducing-broker registration The catch: state fights with Kalshi are still live. Phantom is blocking some categories in Michigan, Nevada and Washington, and those limits could change as cases play out. $SOL is at $102.53 (-0.03% 24h, Binance spot, 13:17 KST), with a 14-day range of $98.62 to $113.40. Bull case: wallets become all-in-one finance apps, bringing new users and stablecoin flow onchain. Bear case: state rulings shrink what can be offered, and thin markets make it hard to cash out at fair prices. Would you trade event contracts straight from your wallet? Phantom began rolling out Kalshi event contracts to US users on Oct 23, with access expanding over the next few weeks.

Aave wants to lock down reentrancy without breaking flash-loan liquidations. Aave Labs' V3.8 proposal (posted Oct 21) adds one security change: a reentrancy guard on Pool operations during external callbacks, built on EIP-1153 transient storage, so the lock lives only for one transaction and costs little gas. Key clarification (Oct 23): flashLoan() and flashLoanSimple() stay OUTSIDE the guard. Liquidation bots that borrow via flash loan and liquidate inside the callback keep working as today. Status: still an ARFC. Next comes Snapshot, then Certora + third-party audits, then an on-chain AIP. Nothing is deployed yet. $AAVE: 138.14, -4.7% in 24h (range 134.00-145.14), sitting at its 14-day low after topping 173.03 (Binance spot, 12:16 KST). My take: defense-in-depth before any incident is the right order, and the flash-loan carve-out avoids breaking the liquidation engine that keeps the protocol solvent. Bull case: smooth vote + clean audits reinforce Aave's security reputation while price retests support. Bear case: governance news rarely moves price, 134 is the line bulls must hold, and the final code still has to match the stated design. Would you rather see more upgrades like this, or fewer moving parts? Source: https://governance.aave.com/t/arfc-aave-v3-8/25891 #WriteToEarn Not financial advice. DYOR.
